On the northeast rim of the cape, is Playa Grande. These two beaches are separated by a natural salt water estuary called Estero Tamarindo. South of Tamarindo Bay there is another picturesque estuary and beach called Playa Langosta. Tamarindo's beautiful surfing beach is the home of some of the best and most consistant surfing in the world.
