Tamarindo is a small village located on the world-reknown Costa Rica surfing coast, the Pacific Coast of the Provence of Guanacaste. It was brought to the attention of surfers in the movie "Endless Summer
II". Since then it has become a major surfing mecca for both longboard and shortboard surfers. The consistent Tamarindo surf has lulled surfers to this Tamarindo Beach from around the world.
With this exposure, the town has grown from a sleepy village to a significant tourist stop along the Costa Rica beach. Investment opportunities have brought businesses from all over the world. Many are ex-patriots
of the US, Canada, and Europe who have discovered the Tamarindo beach and Costa Rica surfing lifestyle, started bars, restaurants, stores and other businesses and settled here permanently.
While Spanish is the official language, most of the friendly people of Tamarindo speak good English and the many foreign business owners and workers make the need to speak Spanish a minor issue. It's good to try
and the locals are more that willing to help when a word or phrase is needed to complete a thought. They also like to practice their English and are happy when you can help them.
The Costa Rica cuisine is varied and the local Tamarindo fare is both good and reasonable. For those with more cosmopolitan tastes, there are ample restaurants providing European type meals at very affordable
prices.
During the day there is no lack of things to do for both the laid back or the adventurous. Horses can be rented and will be brought to the condo for riding on the Tamarindo Beach and in the hills. Surfing is a
major sport down here and Tamarindo beach is known worldwide for it's consistent and challenging surf. The Pacific teams with sport fish and charters are available for action both above and below the Pacific. There are world class Sport Fishing
and outstanding Scuba and Snorkeling experiences awaiting you at almost any Costa Rica beach.

If you like you can lay on the Tamarindo Beach and soak up the sun, or rent a car or scooter and go exploring. Local car rentals offer four wheel drive vehicles at rates similar to the US. Only a valid US license
is needed to rent a car. There are small towns inland and within 3 hours the Volcano Arenal. This is an active volcano and she periodically lights up the sky with her eruptions. Nearby there are Rain Forest Tours and Rafting adventures. These
are not local to Tamarindo but well within the one day adventure window.
At Sunset you can either go to one of the locations where people congregate to see the spectacular sunsets, or your can sit on your own balcony at Sunset Hill with a cool drink and savor the beauty in privacy.
The Costa Ricans love to party and when the sunset is gone both the visitors and locals come out to play in one of the many clubs and bars.
The night can be capped off with a quite walk on your Tamarindo beach, a cab ride home, and by drifting off to sleep at Sunset Hill with the sound of the surf pounding the shore.
